The West Links Juniors Pathway
Helping all our juniors to flourish

Introduction
This first phase of the pathway is all about introducing young golfers to the basics of the game in a fun, friendly environment, equipping our juniors with the fundamentals they will need to be secure in before they are ready to move on to the main course. Our Pre-Course membership gives our juniors unlimited use of the Children's Course and the practice facilities. Our professionals, Katy and Fraser run group lessons to develop the skills and confidence to help our juniors transition to the main course at their own pace.
We run flag competitions to enable our pre-handicap juniors to play in a fun and supportive environment and also have a team in the Scottish Golf GolfSixes programme.
Development
Once our juniors have transitioned onto the main course, we aim to offer as many opportunities as possible to develop their game, at whatever level of pace and engagement suits them.
All West Links Juniors can compete in our monthly junior medals and almost all of the competitions run by North Berwick, Tantallon and Bass Rock Golf Clubs.
For those juniors who would like to represent the team, there is the opportunity to join the squad which competes in the East Lothian Junior League, as well as several reciprocal matches against other junior teams, which are aimed at a range of different ages and ability levels. Squad members are also offered indoor winter training and course management sessions.

Performance
We aim to support juniors who strive to take their golf to a higher level in a variety of ways. Initiatives have included facilitating friendly matches against other elite juniors, arranging practice round sessions for players preparing to compete in national competitions, financial assistance with entry fees for national competitions and winter warm weather training trips incorporating WAGR ranked tournaments.
